Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare to commission commercial video/audio systems
- Risk control measures are applied in accordance with workplace procedures prior to commencing work
- Risks/hazards are identified, assessed and reported to relevant person/s, and control measures implemented
- Extent of programming and commissioning is determined from reports, other relevant documentation and discussions with relevant person/s
- Relevant person/s is consulted to ensure the work is coordinated effectively with others
- Tools, equipment and testing devices required to program and commission video/audio systems are obtained in accordance with workplace procedures and checked for correct operation and safety
- Commission commercial video/audio systems
- Need to test and measure live work is determined in accordance with WHS/OHS requirements and workplace procedures
- Circuits/machines/plant are checked and isolated, as required, in accordance with WHS/OHS requirements and workplace procedures
- Audio/video devices are checked for correct location and alignment in accordance with workplace procedures and job specifications
- Functional settings are made for each audio/video apparatus in accordance with design specifications
- Audio/video system functions are tested in accordance with commissioning requirements
- Sources of audio/video system anomalies are identified and corrected
- Decisions for dealing with unexpected situations are made based on job specifications, work requirements and discussions with relevant person/s
- Methods for dealing with unplanned situations are selected on the basis of safety and specified work outcomes
- Commissioning activities are carried out efficiently without waste of materials, damage to apparatus, the surrounding environment or services applying sustainable energy practices
- Complete and report commissioning activities
- Worksite is made safe in accordance with workplace procedures
